TOWSON, Md. — In an impressive display of skill, Tyler Tejada tallied 20 points to lead Towson to an 83-67 victory over N.C. A&T on Thursday night.
Tejada’s performance included hitting 5 of 15 shots from the field, which featured 3 successful attempts from beyond the arc out of 8, and he was perfect from the free-throw line, converting all 7 attempts. The Tigers improved their record to 11-9 overall and 6-1 in the Coastal Athletic Association. In addition, Nendah Tarke contributed significantly with 17 points, shooting 4 of 8 from the floor—including 3 for 4 from 3-point territory—and made 6 of 8 free throws, along with pulling down six rebounds. Dylan Williamson also made his mark with 11 points, finishing the game shooting 4 of 9, including 2 of 7 from long range.
On the other side, Landon Glasper led the Aggies (4-17, 0-8) with 13 points. Bryson Ogletree and Jahnathan Lamothe followed closely, scoring 12 and 11 points, respectively; Lamothe also recorded seven rebounds and four assists. Unfortunately for N.C. A&T, this loss marked their seventh consecutive defeat.
Tejada’s strong first-half performance, where he scored 12 points, significantly contributed to Towson leading 43-34 at halftime. In the second half, the Tigers accelerated their momentum with a 7-0 scoring spree that stretched their lead to 13 points. Tarke took charge in this period, adding a team-high 11 points.
Looking ahead, Towson is set to face Northeastern in an away game on Monday, while North Carolina A&T will host Stony Brook on Saturday.
