In a thrilling matchup on Monday, Princeton emerged victorious against Columbia with a final score of 71-67, marking their seventh consecutive win. Caden Pierce was a standout for the Tigers, contributing 21 points to the team’s success.
Pierce also recorded nine rebounds and five assists, showcasing his all-around abilities. His teammate, Xaivian Lee, added 19 points to the scoreboard, although he struggled with his shooting, making only 8 of 26 attempts and 3 of 13 from three-point territory. Lee, however, also secured nine rebounds and provided nine assists, helping to facilitate the offense. Blake Peters finished the game with a solid performance, scoring 14 points while hitting 4 of 8 shots, including an impressive 4 of 7 from beyond the arc.
On the opposing side, Columbia’s Geronimo Rubio De La Rosa led the Lions with 15 points and two steals. Blair Thompson contributed significantly as well, adding 13 points along with six rebounds to aid his team’s efforts. Avery Brown rounded out the scoring for Columbia with 10 points and four assists.
Looking ahead, both teams will be back in action on Saturday. Princeton will host Cornell, while Columbia is set to face the Pennsylvania team on the road.
