THIBODAUX, Louisiana — In an exciting matchup on Monday, Ja’Sean Jackson led Lamar to a slim 78-74 victory over Nicholls State, contributing significantly with 18 points.
Jackson showcased his shooting skills, hitting 5 of 8 attempts from the field and converting 8 of 10 free throws, helping the Cardinals improve their record to 10-9 overall and 5-3 in the Southland Conference.
Alexis Marmolejos supported the effort with 12 points, successfully landing 3 of 8 shots, including 3 out of 5 from beyond the arc, along with securing seven rebounds.
Additionally, Cody Pennebaker also scored 12 points for the Cardinals, going 4 for 10 from the field and making 2 of 3 shots from 3-point range.
For the Colonels, Jamal West excelled with an impressive performance, scoring 22 points and grabbing 10 rebounds, while also recording three blocks.
