LAKE FOREST, Ill. — The Chicago Bears recently conducted interviews for their head coaching position with Todd Monken, the offensive coordinator for the Baltimore Ravens, and Joe Brady, who oversees the offense for the Buffalo Bills.

Monken, a native of the Chicago area, and Brady both lead teams featuring MVP-caliber quarterbacks, Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen, respectively. This coming Sunday, Baltimore is set to compete against Buffalo, both teams having won their divisions in the AFC.

During the regular season, the Ravens topped the NFL in total offensive yards and secured the third spot in scoring. The Bills were not far behind, ranking second in scoring and tenth in total yards per game.

The Bears are in search of a new leader after parting ways with Matt Eberflus on November 29. The team concluded their season at the bottom of the NFC North with a record of 5-12 and endured a challenging stretch of ten consecutive losses before finishing with a victory against the Green Bay Packers.

The advancement of quarterback Caleb Williams is poised to be a significant focus for the incoming coach, especially after the Bears experienced their fourth successive losing season. In his rookie campaign, Williams, the top overall pick from last year’s draft, recorded 3,541 passing yards, threw 20 touchdowns, and had six interceptions, but was unfortunately sacked a staggering 68 times—a franchise record and the highest in the league.

The Bears have confirmed that they have interviewed a total of 14 candidates for the head coaching position. Prominent names on the list include Ben Johnson, the offensive coordinator for the Detroit Lions, veteran coach Pete Carroll from the Seattle Seahawks, and established coaches Mike McCarthy and Mike Vrabel, well-known for their tenures with the Green Bay Packers, Dallas Cowboys, and Tennessee Titans, respectively. Additionally, they have spoken with Arthur Smith, offensive coordinator for the Pittsburgh Steelers, interim head coach Thomas Brown, former coaches Ron Rivera (Carolina and Washington), and David Shaw (Stanford), along with Aaron Glenn (Detroit’s defensive coordinator), Drew Petzing (Arizona Cardinals’ offensive coordinator), Anthony Weaver (Miami Dolphins’ defensive coordinator), and Mike Kafka (New York Giants’ offensive coordinator).
