In a competitive college basketball matchup on Thursday night, the Rider Broncs secured a 66-60 victory against the Mount St. Mary’s Mountaineers in Lawrenceville, New Jersey.
Jay Alvarez was instrumental in Rider’s win, contributing 19 points along with three steals. Alongside him, Aasim Burton played a significant role, scoring 14 points while also recording five assists and four steals. TJ Weeks Jr. added to the Broncs’ efforts with 12 points, though his shooting was somewhat off, hitting just 4 of 13 attempts, which included a 2 for 8 performance from three-point range.
On the opposing side, Dola Adebayo stood out for Mount St. Mary’s, leading his team with 21 points and grabbing seven rebounds. Carmelo Pacheco supported the team with an additional 12 points.
Looking ahead, both teams are set to continue their seasons this Saturday. Rider will travel to take on Marist while Mount St. Mary’s will be competing at home against Quinnipiac.
