FAIRBORN, Ohio – In an exhilarating overtime showdown, Jalen Jackson spearheaded Purdue Fort Wayne to a thrilling 120-113 victory against Wright State on Wednesday evening.
Jackson’s performance was exceptional, scoring 30 points while also contributing with seven rebounds and three steals, playing a pivotal role in the Mastodons’ success as they improved to 14-6 overall and 7-2 in the Horizon League.
Rasheed Bello also stood out for Purdue Fort Wayne, netting 27 points and dishing out eight assists to aid the team. Chandler Cuthrell showcased an impressive game, going 7 of 10 from the field and a perfect 6 for 6 from the free-throw line, totaling 20 points alongside a remarkable 16 rebounds.
On the other side, for the Raiders, Alex Huibregtse was a driving force with 31 points and four assists, while Jack Doumbia contributed significantly with 23 points and 13 rebounds. Brandon Noel matched Doumbia’s scoring output, adding 23 points and grabbing nine rebounds, but it wasn’t enough to secure the win.
Looking ahead, Purdue Fort Wayne is set to go on the road to face Oakland next Wednesday, while Wright State will take on Northern Kentucky this Saturday.
