HUNTSVILLE, Texas – In a tightly contested matchup on Monday night, Jakevion Buckley led Southeast Louisiana to a 66-59 victory over Stephen F. Austin, contributing 16 points to the win.
Buckley also showcased his defensive skills with four steals during the game, helping the Lions improve their record to 9-8 overall and 3-3 within the Southland Conference. Brody Rowbury supported the effort with 13 points, while Sam Hines Jr. added ten points on the scoreboard.
For the Lumberjacks, Keon Thompson was a standout performer with 14 points. Thierno Sylla also chipped in with a solid performance, scoring 12 points and grabbing six rebounds. Additionally, Kyle Hayman contributed to the team’s effort with 11 points and seven rebounds.
Looking ahead, both Southeast Louisiana and Stephen F. Austin are scheduled to play again on Saturday. Southeast Louisiana will make a trip to face Northwestern State, while SFA will head to Nicholls State for their next game.
