NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Tennessee Titans have concluded the initial phase of their search for a new general manager, interviewing Green Bay Packers executive Jon-Eric Sullivan as the tenth candidate.
The team plans to conduct the next set of interviews shortly, aiming to find a replacement for Ran Carthon, who was dismissed after a disappointing record of 9-25 during his two-year tenure in the role.
Chad Brinker, who serves as the president of football operations, is managing the search process. This effort commenced on Friday, beginning with three interviews, followed by four additional candidates on Saturday, two on Sunday, and culminating with Sullivan on Monday.
Sullivan currently holds the position of vice president of player personnel with the Packers, a role he ascended to in 2022 after previously working as co-director of player personnel for four seasons. His experience includes serving as director of college scouting from 2016 to 2017. With a rich background in the NFL, he began as a national football scouting representative for Green Bay in 2004, following an internship during the team’s 2003 training camp.
Brinker shares a similar history, having launched his NFL career with the Packers as a scouting assistant, where he spent 13 years before joining the Titans in February 2023. He was elevated to his current position last offseason.
While at Green Bay, he oversaw the pro personnel department, managing activities like free agency preparation and scouting for undrafted free agents. He was also involved in long-term contract negotiations with the general manager and director of football operations, helping to manage the team’s salary cap effectively.
Among the early candidates interviewed were two former general managers, Reggie McKenzie and Thomas Dimitroff, as Tennessee commenced its search for fresh leadership in the team’s front office.
