CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — In a match that had to be rescheduled a day later due to concerns over severe winter weather, Honor Huff shone brightly for Chattanooga, leading his team to a commanding 91-66 victory over VMI on Sunday. Huff equaled his career bests by knocking down nine 3-pointers and scoring a total of 31 points in the game.
The junior guard was exceptionally efficient, hitting 9 out of 12 shots from the field, including an impressive 9 for 10 from beyond the arc, while also making all four of his free throw attempts. With this win, the Mocs improved their season record to 10-7 and 2-2 in Southern Conference play. In addition to Huff’s outstanding performance, Frank Champion contributed significantly with 13 points on a 5 for 7 shooting performance, while Bash Wieland added 11 points, also shooting 5 for 7.
For the Keydets, who now hold a record of 6-11 and are still searching for their first conference win at 0-4, Augustinas Kiudulas was the standout player, collecting a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Supporting Kiudulas, Jaylen Pazon chipped in 15 points, and Rickey Bradley, Jr. scored 12 points while grabbing six rebounds, although their efforts were not enough to overcome Chattanooga’s offensive onslaught.
The game showcased Chengannuma’s ability to dominate and provides a boost as they navigate through the remainder of the season.
