RICHMOND, Ky. — In an intense matchup on Saturday night, Jacksonville managed to secure a victory over Eastern Kentucky with a final score of 82-75.
Robert McCray led the charge for Jacksonville, contributing 19 points to the team’s success.
Alongside his scoring prowess, he also recorded three steals, highlighting his defensive capabilities.
The Dolphins’ overall performance improved their record to 9-7 and 3-1 in the Atlantic Sun Conference.
Kendall Munson also made a significant impact, finishing the game with 15 points, shooting 4 of 9 from the field and 7 of 9 from the free-throw line, along with grabbing seven rebounds.
Additionally, Zimi Nwokeji added to the scoring efforts with 13 points, going 3 for 6 from the floor and sinking all five of his free throw attempts, while hitting two out of five from beyond the arc.
On the opposing side, the Colonels of Eastern Kentucky put forth a commendable effort, with George Kimble III emerging as the top scorer of the game.
He recorded an impressive 30 points, accompanied by six rebounds and six steals, showcasing his versatility as a player.
Devontae Blanton also chipped in with 16 points and secured six rebounds, contributing to the team’s overall performance.
Montavious Myrick rounded out the scoring for Eastern Kentucky with a double-double, finishing with 12 points, 12 rebounds, plus two steals and two blocks.
The Colonels now stand at a record of 8-9 and 2-2 in conference play.
Both Jacksonville and Eastern Kentucky will look to maintain their momentum as they prepare for their next games on Thursday.
Jacksonville will host North Alabama, while Eastern Kentucky is set to face Austin Peay on the road.
