Lamar Jackson has outperformed Josh Allen to secure a spot on the prestigious 2024 NFL All-Pro Team, where Ja’Marr Chase and Justin Jefferson have both been recognized unanimously. Saquon Barkley demonstrated his formidable performance by garnering 48 of 50 first-place votes, while Patrick Surtain II earned 49 votes from a group of media experts dedicated to covering the league regularly.

Upon learning of his unanimous selection, Jefferson expressed his gratitude, stating, “Wow, that’s crazy. That’s respect right there. That’s love.” This marks Jackson’s third overall All-Pro nomination and his consecutive selection, achieving 30 first-place votes compared to Allen’s 18. In terms of Super Bowl-era quarterbacks, only Peyton Manning and Aaron Rodgers have more All-Pro nominations than Jackson, who has secured his place as a leading figure in the league.

Joining Jackson in honors are fellow Ravens players Roquan Smith, Marlon Humphrey, and Patrick Ricard, contributing to a standout season for Baltimore with a 12-5 record. The NFC-leading Lions, finishing the season at 15-2, had four representatives selected, including Amon-Ra St. Brown, Penei Sewell, Kerby Joseph, and punter Jack Fox. Notably, Joseph, who topped the NFL with nine interceptions, expressed disappointment over being overlooked for the Pro Bowl.

Barkley’s remarkable season with the Eagles, where he accumulated 2,005 rushing yards in 16 games, placed him alongside linebacker Zack Baun as Philadelphia’s first-team honorees. Barkley did not play the final regular-season game, as the Eagles, locked in the No. 2 seed, opted not to pursue Eric Dickerson’s long-standing single-season rushing record.

Defensive stars Myles Garrett of the Browns and Fred Warner of the 49ers earned their fourth All-Pro nods. Meanwhile, Buccaneers left tackle Tristan Wirfs made history by being selected at both tackle positions for the All-Pro roster. Having previously been named at right tackle in 2021, Wirfs proudly stated, “It’s pretty special. It’s something I wanted to do, wanted to accomplish.” A total of 14 players made the All-Pro list for the first time, including rookie tight end Brock Bowers from the Raiders, who received 27 first-place votes, edging out George Kittle.

Completing the offensive selections are Chiefs players Creed Humphrey and Joe Thuney, along with Broncos guard Quinn Meinerz. Defensive standout Trey Hendrickson from Cincinnati, who led the league with 17.5 sacks, joined Garrett as edge rushers. Hendrickson reflected on his achievement, saying, “That’s such a privilege and an honor.” Interior linemen include Kansas City’s Chris Jones and Pittsburgh’s Cameron Heyward, while the secondary features Derek Stingley Jr. of the Texans, Xavier McKinney from the Packers, along with Surtain, Humphrey, and Joseph.

“That’s a huge honor,” remarked Surtain, pinpointing the significance of the selection. Stingley, the third overall pick in the 2022 draft, rebounded from injury struggles to help the Texans secure their second consecutive AFC South championship. He emphasized the importance of teamwork, stating, “It’s really more about the secondary as a unit.”

Special teams selections included Steelers kicker Chris Boswell, Cowboys return specialist KaVontae Turpin, and Broncos returner Marvin Mims Jr., among others. Jackson, who also made the All-Pro team in 2019 and 2023, holds the distinction of being named NFL MVP during those seasons, during which Baltimore earned the AFC’s top seed but fell short of the Super Bowl each time. In the voting, Jackson collected 30 first-place votes while Allen garnered 18, and Joe Burrow received two.

Ravens running back Derrick Henry was awarded the two first-place votes not bestowed upon Barkley. Additionally, players like St. Brown (40), Thuney (41), Humphrey (44), Baun (44), Garrett (45), and Turpin (49) all received over 40 of the 50 first-place votes.

The AP introduced a new voting system for this award for the third consecutive year, where voters rank a first team and a second team, with first-team votes worth three points and second-team votes accounting for one point.
