PULLMAN, Wash. — In an exhilarating overtime finish, Lamar Washington posted an impressive 40 points, clinching victory with a last-second 3-pointer to lead Pacific to a 95-94 triumph over Washington State on Thursday night.
Washington, who received an inbounds pass in the right corner, made a contested shot from beyond the arc, contributing significantly with six assists and five steals for the Tigers, who improved their record to 6-13 overall and 1-4 in the West Coast Conference. In addition, Petar Krivokapic made a notable impact, scoring 18 points while going 5 of 10 from the floor, including 3 for 6 from downtown and converting 5 of 7 free throws. Jefferson Koulibaly added 11 points to the score sheet, though he struggled from beyond the arc, finishing with a 0 for 5 shooting performance from that range, while hitting 3 of 4 from the charity stripe. This victory for Pacific also marked an end to a difficult nine-game losing streak.
On the other side, Ethan Price led the Cougars with a solid performance, pouring in 28 points and snagging eight rebounds. LeJuan Watts contributed with 16 points, alongside eight rebounds and two steals, providing additional support for Washington State. Nate Calmese also made a meaningful contribution, concluding the game with 14 points, five assists, and four steals.
In an evenly matched game, both teams entered the fourth quarter deadlocked at 84-84, with Washington scoring 17 points in the second half. During overtime, Washington was the standout for Pacific, scoring seven points, including the decisive shot that sealed the victory.
