— In a thrilling encounter on Wednesday night, Jeff Woodward made a significant impact by scoring 20 points, leading the Colgate Raiders to a narrow 67-62 victory over the Lehigh Mountain Hawks.

Woodward was not just an offensive asset; he also secured 12 rebounds, showcasing his dominance on both ends of the court. The Raiders, now holding a record of 5-11 overall and 2-1 within the Patriot League, saw Brady Cummins contribute a solid performance with 13 points, hitting 4 of 6 from the field and going a perfect 5 for 5 at the free-throw line. Additionally, Parker Jones chipped in with 11 points, including 4 for 11 shooting with a couple of successful three-pointers out of six attempts.

On the opposing side, Lehigh’s Nasir Whitlock was the standout performer, racking up an impressive 23 points in the match. Cam Gillus also had a notable game, ending with 11 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and two steals, helping the Mountain Hawks to keep pace throughout the contest.

Jones was particularly effective in the first half, scoring nine points; however, Colgate faced a slight setback at halftime, trailing 34-31.

Looking ahead, both teams are set to return to action this Saturday. Colgate will be playing against Boston University, while Lehigh is preparing to face off against Army.
