A judge in Minnesota has mandated that MyPillow is to pay approximately $778,000 to the delivery service DHL due to unpaid fees and other associated costs. This lawsuit was brought against the company, which is closely linked with its founder and prominent figure, Mike Lindell, known for his strong advocacy of election denial.
The judgment encompasses more than $48,000 in accrued interest along with over $4,800 designated for DHL’s legal expenses. The order was finalized last month by Judge Susan Burke of Hennepin County. It was reported that MyPillow had earlier consented in October to compensate DHL with $550,000 but subsequently failed to fulfill this obligation and did not attend a recent hearing concerning DHL’s attempts to recover the said amount.
DHL filed the lawsuit in September, marking it as just one of several ongoing legal and financial challenges facing MyPillow, headquartered in Chaska, Minnesota, and its CEO, Mike Lindell. Lindell is widely recognized for his vocal support for Donald Trump, having significantly contributed to the propagation of unfounded narratives regarding the 2020 presidential election results.
Following the initiation of the legal action, Lindell stated that MyPillow had ceased utilizing DHL for shipping over a year prior, attributing the discontinuation to disputes over shipment errors that he claimed were caused by DHL. Moreover, the figure popularly known as the “MyPillow Guy” is also facing defamation lawsuits from two electoral technology firms, namely Dominion Voting Systems based in Washington, D.C., and Smartmatic located in Minnesota.
