DEKALB, Ill. – In a confident display on Tuesday night, VonCameron Davis spearheaded Kent State’s offense, netting 31 points to guide his team to a decisive 68-50 victory over Northern Illinois.

Davis also contributed significantly on the boards, grabbing 10 rebounds, and showcased his defensive skills with three steals, leading the Golden Flashes to improve their record to 10-4 overall and 1-1 in the Mid-American Conference.

Cli’Ron Hornbeak supported the effort with a commendable performance as well, achieving a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Jalen Sullinger struggled from the field, hitting only 4 of 12 shots overall, including a disappointing 0 for 7 from beyond the arc, finishing with 10 points after making 2 of 3 free throw attempts.

For the Huskies, who now hold a record of 4-10 and are still searching for their first conference win at 0-2, James Dent Jr. led the scoring with 21 points. Joe Munden Jr. added 10 points to the team’s total.

Kent State established a strong lead by halftime, maintaining a 35-21 advantage, with Davis contributing 16 points by then. He continued his scoring prowess in the second half, adding another 15 points to his tally, effectively securing the win for his team.
