CULVER CITY, Calif. — The sports landscape is set to welcome a new dynamic team as Prime Video gears up for its NBA coverage next season, featuring notable figures like Taylor Rooks, Blake Griffin, and Dirk Nowitzki.

Blake Griffin, who recently hung up his jersey after a distinguished 15-year career, emerged as a highly sought-after figure in the broadcasting arena. Following his retirement in April, he attracted interest from several networks, including NBC, which is returning to NBA broadcasting with a new media rights agreement starting this October, and ESPN.

Drafted first overall by the Los Angeles Clippers in the 2009 NBA Draft, Griffin quickly made his mark as the league’s Rookie of the Year in 2011. His impressive career highlights include winning the Slam Dunk Contest in 2011, where he famously dunked over a parked car, alongside six All-Star selections and five All-NBA team honors.

Joining Griffin is Dirk Nowitzki, another basketball legend who is preparing for his debut as an analyst. Nowitzki, celebrated for his remarkable 21-season tenure with the Dallas Mavericks, was a 14-time All-Star and won the NBA Most Valuable Player award in 2007. He retired in 2019 and was enshrined in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2023, highlighting his legacy in the sport.

Taylor Rooks, already known for her work as a feature reporter on Prime Video’s “Thursday Night Football,” will also take on her role for the NBA coverage. She is recognized for her hosting and reporting contributions across platforms like Bleacher Report and TNT.

The studio for the show will be located in Culver City, situated on the Amazon MGM Studios lot, providing a dynamic backdrop for their NBA analysis.

As part of its broadcasting offerings, Prime Video will air a total of 66 regular-season games, which will include all matches from the quarterfinals of the new in-season NBA Cup. Additionally, they will cover every game in the play-in tournament, the first and second rounds of the playoffs, and one of the conference finals over the next six years, enhancing the viewing experience for basketball fans.
