President-elect Donald Trump has made waves by communicating with the residents of Greenland that “we’re going to treat you well.” This comes as his eldest son makes a visit to the Danish territory abundant in minerals and home to a significant U.S. military installation. The visit heightens interests and discussions surrounding the potential acquisition of Greenland by the incoming U.S. administration.

In a subsequent news conference, Trump did not dismiss the idea of employing military or economic pressure to gain control over Greenland, asserting that “we need it for national security.” Prior to
