HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — In a recent matchup, Lorenzo Downey contributed significantly with 13 points as Alabama A&M secured a 79-67 victory over Mississippi Valley State on Monday evening.
Downey’s performance was complemented by his nine rebounds, bolstering the Bulldogs’ efforts as they improved their season record to 6-9, with a strong start of 2-0 in the Southwestern Athletic Conference.
Other key contributors for Alabama A&M included Darius Ford, who added 11 points, and Anthony Bryant, who chipped in with 10 points.
On the opposing side, Arthur Tate was a standout for the Delta Devils, recording 17 points and securing six rebounds. His efforts, however, were not enough to halt the team’s struggle, marking their sixth consecutive loss. Kendal Parker and Jair Horton both scored nine points, contributing to the total but unable to change the outcome of the game.
This victory continues Alabama A&M’s promising start in the conference, and the team looks to build on this momentum in their upcoming games.
