NORFOLK, Va. — In an impressive display of talent, Brian Moore Jr. led Norfolk State to an 81-59 triumph over Maryland-Eastern Shore on Saturday evening, scoring 22 points.
Moore’s contributions did not stop there, as he also secured seven rebounds, collected three steals, and recorded four blocks, showcasing his versatility on the court for the Spartans, who now hold a season record of 10-7 and launched into their Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference campaign with a victory.
Chris Fields Jr. was another standout performer for Norfolk State, contributing 14 points to the team’s success, shooting 5 for 8 from the field and netting 3 of 7 from the free-throw line, while also contributing five rebounds.
Jalen Myers further supported his team’s effort by finishing with 12 points, having made 5 of 6 attempts from the field and hitting 1 of 3 from the charity stripe.
On the other side of the court, the Hawks, now with a record of 4-13 and yet to secure a conference win at 0-1, were led by Chris Flippin, who put up 17 points alongside nine rebounds.
Ketron Shaw complemented Flippin’s efforts with a performance that included 10 points, nine rebounds, and two blocks, while Cardell Bailey added to the tally with nine points and six rebounds.
Both teams will return to the court on Monday, with Norfolk State set to take on Delaware State and Maryland-Eastern Shore preparing to host Howard.
