HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — In a thrilling encounter on Saturday night, the Troy Trojans narrowly edged out the Marshall Thundering Herd with a score of 58-57, led by Tayton Conerway’s impressive performance, scoring 20 points.

Jackson Fields sealed the game for Troy by hitting 1 of 2 free throws with just 24 seconds remaining on the clock. The tension peaked when Marshall’s Mikal Dawson had a chance to clinch victory with a 3-point shot, but his attempt was unsuccessful as time ran out.

Conerway’s contribution wasn’t solely on the scoreboard; he also recorded five steals for the Trojans, who improved their record to 10-4 overall and remain undefeated in the Sun Belt Conference at 3-0. Myles Rigsby added crucial points as well, going 3 for 6 from the field and converting 5 of 7 free-throw attempts to finish with 13 points.
