BOISE, Idaho — In a thrilling matchup on Saturday night, Miles Byrd propelled San Diego State to a 76-68 victory over Boise State, contributing a significant 22 points to the game.

Byrd demonstrated his offensive prowess, connecting on 8 of 15 shots from the floor, including 3 out of 6 attempts from beyond the arc. Additionally, he was 3 for 7 from the free-throw line. Fellow teammate Taj DeGourville supported Byrd’s efforts with 13 points, showcasing effective shooting of 4 for 7 overall and 4 for 5 from the charity stripe, along with grabbing six rebounds. Jared Jones also made a contribution, finishing with nine points after going 4 for 10 from the field.

On the other side of the court, the Broncos were led by Chris Lockett Jr., who ended the game with 16 points. Andrew Meadow added to their efforts by scoring 14 points, while Julian Bowie chipped in with 10 points. Unfortunately for Boise State, this loss halted their impressive five-game winning streak.

At halftime, San Diego State held a slim advantage, leading 33-32. Byrd emerged as the standout scorer for his team during the first half, amassing 14 points. The Aztecs regained the lead for good when Miles Heide executed a layup with 12:25 remaining in the second half, which brought the score to 49-47.

Looking ahead, San Diego State is set to face Air Force at home on Wednesday, while Boise State prepares to host UNLV on Tuesday.
