STATESBORO, Ga. — South Alabama secured a decisive victory over Georgia Southern with a score of 76-47 on Saturday night. The standout performance came from John Broom, Myles Corey, and reserve player Judah Brown, who all contributed 11 points each to the team’s success.
Broom also recorded seven rebounds and four steals during the game, showcasing his all-around skills for the Jaguars, who improved their record to 11-4 overall and 3-0 in the Sun Belt Conference. Brown’s shooting was efficient, hitting 4 of 8 attempts from the floor, including 3 of 7 from beyond the arc. Corey had a solid outing as well, registering 5 of 11 shooting from the field and managing 1 of 3 at the free-throw line.
For the Eagles, Braylhan Thomas was the leading scorer, matching the trio’s output with 11 points. Micah Smith provided additional support with nine points and two steals, while Eren Banks added eight points to the mix. The loss drops Georgia Southern’s record to 8-7 and 1-2 in conference play.
Looking ahead, South Alabama will face Arkansas State in a home game on Thursday, while Georgia Southern prepares to visit Georgia State on Wednesday.
