EVANSVILLE, Ind. — In a competitive matchup on Saturday, Jaden Daughtry emerged as a crucial player off the bench, contributing 26 points to propel Indiana State to a narrow 66-62 win over Evansville.
Daughtry displayed an impressive shooting performance, making 9 of 17 attempts from the field while successfully sinking all eight of his free throws. The Sycamores improved their record to 9-6 overall and 3-1 within the Missouri Valley Conference with this victory.
In addition to Daughtry’s standout performance, Samage Teel added eight points, demonstrating contributions beyond scoring with five rebounds, seven assists, and three steals despite shooting 2 of 8 from the floor.
The Purple Aces were led by Tayshawn Comer, who scored 24 points, along with seven assists and two steals, showcasing his versatility on the court. Tanner Cuff also made his mark with 11 points and six rebounds, while Joshua Hughes contributed 10 points, nine rebounds, and five steals, rounding out a strong effort from the Evansville lineup.
Daughtry made a significant impact early in the game, scoring 13 points in the first half, though Indiana State found themselves trailing at halftime with a score of 36-31.
