ST. LOUIS — The Hermann Trophy awards were announced recently, recognizing the outstanding talents of college soccer players in the United States. Among the recipients were Michael Adedokun, a senior midfielder from Ohio State, and Kate Faasse, a junior forward from North Carolina.

Adedokun had an impressive season, tallying 11 goals and 11 assists. His remarkable contributions helped propel Ohio State to the semifinals of the College Cup. Following his successful collegiate career, he was chosen by the Montreal team as the 13th overall selection in last month’s Major League Soccer draft.

On the other hand, Faasse showcased an incredible performance this season, finishing as the NCAA’s top scorer with 20 goals. Notably, she contributed significantly to her team’s success in the NCAA tournament, scoring four crucial goals that aided the Tar Heels in clinching their 23rd national championship.

The voting process for these prestigious awards involves coaches and is organized annually by the Missouri Athletic Club, highlighting the elite talent present in college soccer across the nation.
