Douglas scores 30 as Georgia Southern defeats UL Monroe 90-82

STATESBORO, Ga. — In an impressive display of skill, Bradley Douglas scored 30 points to propel Georgia Southern past UL Monroe, finishing the game with a 90-82 victory on Thursday night.

Douglas contributed significantly beyond scoring, securing six rebounds for the Eagles, who improved to 8-6 overall and 1-1 in the Sun Belt Conference. Nakavieon White also made a strong impact, adding 17 points to the team’s tally. He showcased his shooting accuracy by hitting 5 out of 9 from the field, including a notable 3 of 6 from beyond the arc, and maintained perfect free-throw shooting at 4 for 4. White also contributed with five rebounds and five assists, rounding out his stellar performance.

Braylhan Thomas chimed in with 10 points, making 4 of 9 attempts from the field, although he struggled a bit from three-point range, hitting just 1 of 5 shots.

On the other side, the Warhawks of UL Monroe, now at 4-11 overall and still looking for their first conference win at 0-2, saw their scoring leader, Coltie Young, net 20 points. Jerry Ngopot also had a solid performance with 19 points added to the scoreboard, while Jalen Bolden contributed significantly with 16 points, seven rebounds, and three steals.

As both teams prepare for their next matchups, Georgia Southern will host South Alabama, while UL Monroe travels to face Coastal Carolina on Saturday.
