CHARLESTON, S.C. — Derrin Boyd had an outstanding performance, netting 26 points to lead the Charleston Cougars to a decisive 94-67 victory over the Hampton Pirates on Thursday evening.

Boyd demonstrated impressive shooting skills, hitting 6 out of 10 attempts from the floor, and excelling from beyond the arc with 5 out of 9 successful three-pointers. He also showed proficiency at the free-throw line, sinking all 9 of his attempts. The Cougars now hold a record of 11 wins and 3 losses, with a 1-0 mark in the Coastal Athletic Association. Ante Brzovic contributed significantly with 21 points and 9 rebounds, while AJ Smith added 13 points, shooting 3 for 7 from the field and making all 6 of his free throws.
