FORT WORTH, Texas — In a decisive matchup, the No. 11 TCU Horned Frogs triumphed over Colorado with a score of 63-50 on Wednesday evening. Hailey Van Lith and Sedona Prince each contributed 14 points to secure the victory for TCU, who now holds a record of 14-1 and remains undefeated in the Big 12 Conference at 2-0.
The Horned Frogs showcased a strong defensive performance, limiting the Buffaloes to just 35% shooting and forcing 17 turnovers throughout the game. Prince recorded her first double-double since late November, also pulling down 10 rebounds and blocking three shots, marking the 25th time in her career she has recorded three or more blocks. TCU extended its impressive home winning streak to 14 games, just one victory shy of matching the record set during the 2003-04 season.
For Colorado, Jade Masogayo was a standout with 14 points but faced challenges as she was among the two starters who fouled out. The Buffaloes entered the fourth quarter trailing by 12 points but started strong, scoring the first seven points of the quarter. However, their momentum quickly diminished as they went only 1 of 7 from the field in the latter part of the quarter and committed two turnovers, allowing TCU to pull further ahead.
The Horned Frogs took a crucial lead late in the second quarter, powered by a 10-0 run with contributions from Van Lith and Aaliyah Roberson, each scoring four points during that stretch. By halftime, TCU managed to build a 27-21 advantage as Colorado struggled, missing four shot attempts and recording two turnovers.
Overall, the first half saw both teams shoot the same percentage from the field, each connecting on 9 of 26 shots, and tallying 10 turnovers. However, TCU capitalized with a higher number of three-pointers and converted 5 of 7 free throws while Colorado was unable to make it to the free-throw line.
