DENTON, Texas — Atin Wright delivered a clutch performance by hitting a three-pointer just before the final buzzer, leading North Texas to a thrilling 78-75 win over UAB on Tuesday night.
Wright finished the game with an impressive 22 points, showcasing his shooting skills by going 4 for 12 from the field, including 3 for 8 from beyond the arc, while also maintaining a perfect record of 11 out of 11 at the free-throw line. The Mean Green improved to a record of 10-3 overall and 1-0 in the American Athletic Conference. Contributing significantly to the victory, Latrell Jossell scored 20 points and recorded four steals, while Johnathan Massie added 11 points to the team’s tally.
On the other side, Alejandro Vazquez was the standout for UAB, scoring 15 points off the bench, while Efrem Johnson chipped in with 13 points. Yaxel Lendeborg provided a well-rounded performance with 12 points, 11 rebounds, and four assists, but it wasn’t enough to secure a win for the Blazers (7-7, 0-1).
