HATTIESBURG, Mississippi — Denijay Harris showcased an impressive performance by scoring 32 points, leading the Southern Miss Golden Eagles to an 80-70 victory over William Carey on Monday night.

Harris also made a significant contribution on the boards, racking up 23 rebounds during the match for the Golden Eagles, who now hold a 6-7 record. Neftali Alvarez added to the scoreboard with 14 points, making 5 of his 13 attempts from the field, though he struggled with his shooting from beyond the arc, missing all four of his three-point attempts, while managing to sink 4 of 6 from the free-throw line. Meanwhile, Christian Watson finished with 10 points, hitting 2 out of 7 shots, including 2 of 3 from beyond the line, and going 4 for 8 at the charity stripe.

Dylan Brumfield led the Crusaders with an outstanding performance, netting 27 points along with six assists and two steals. Ashton Campbell was also a key player for William Carey, contributing 14 points, six rebounds, and three steals throughout the game.
