NORMAN, Okla. — Raegan Beers delivered a stellar performance with 19 points, 12 rebounds, and four blocks, helping the No. 9 Oklahoma Sooners secure an 82-64 victory over New Mexico State on Sunday.

Alongside Beers, Sahara Williams contributed 18 points, while Payton Verhulst added 15, as Oklahoma extended its impressive home game winning streak to 16, concluding their non-conference schedule with a strong performance.

This marks Beers’ sixth double-double of the current season.

Oklahoma (12-1) faced an early challenge, trailing by one at the conclusion of the first quarter. However, despite struggles with shooting, they rallied with a 6-1 run at the end of the first half, allowing them to lead 31-26 as they headed into halftime.

The Aggies (7-6) responded vigorously after the break, erasing Oklahoma’s lead with a swift 7-0 run. The match remained competitive, trading points back and forth, until the Sooners managed to close out the third quarter with a decisive 10-point streak, taking a 57-46 lead into the final period.

Oklahoma managed to increase their lead to 15 points, but New Mexico State attempted a late charge, narrowing the gap to single digits with seven minutes left. Nevertheless, the Sooners closed out the game strong, finishing the final moments on a 15-6 run.

Molly Kaiser led the Aggies with an impressive 24 points during the game.

One significant takeaway from the match was that New Mexico State struggled against the height and agility of the 6-foot-4 Beers. Oklahoma’s depth also proved to be a critical factor, as their bench outscored the Aggies 23-8.

A pivotal moment occurred late in the third quarter when, with the Sooners leading by just one point, Lexi sank her second consecutive three-pointer, igniting a 10-0 run that established a commanding 13-point lead for Oklahoma early in the fourth.

In terms of key statistics, Oklahoma dominated the boards, particularly on the offensive end, where they out-rebounded New Mexico State 22-7, resulting in a striking 24-2 advantage in points from second chances.

Looking ahead, the Sooners will kick off their SEC schedule at home against their rival Texas on Thursday. Meanwhile, New Mexico State will continue their road trip as they begin Conference USA play against Sam Houston State on the same night.
