Edwards penalized $100,000 for inappropriate language, NBA considers his past conduct.

NEW YORK — The NBA has imposed a $100,000 fine on Anthony Edwards for using inappropriate language during a live TV interview, marking the third financial penalty for the Minnesota Timberwolves player within the last few weeks. This latest fine followed his remarks after the Timberwolves’ narrow 113-112 win against the Houston Rockets on Friday.

The NBA’s decision took into account Edwards’ ongoing pattern of profanity during media interactions. Earlier, he faced a $75,000 fine on Monday for publicly criticizing game officials and using inappropriate language. Additionally, he received a $25,000 fine for comments made after a victory against the Golden State Warriors on December 6.

Earlier in the season, on November 17, Edwards was fined $35,000 for displaying an obscene gesture during a game. These consecutive penalties have raised questions about his conduct, with the NBA clearly aiming to address and curb such behavior through financial repercussions.
