MORAGA, Calif. — In an exciting matchup on Saturday night, Luke Barrett led the way for Saint Mary’s, scoring 20 points in their 70-60 victory over Pacific as both teams kicked off their West Coast Conference seasons.

Barrett also contributed significantly with ten rebounds and five assists, showcasing his all-around skills for the Gaels, who improved their season record to 11-3. Jordan Ross added 13 points, shooting 4 of 11 from the field, including 3 for 4 from beyond the arc, and he also grabbed five boards. Meanwhile, Mitchell Saxen finished with 12 points, converting 5 of 10 attempts while also securing ten rebounds, underscoring a strong performance by Saint Mary’s frontcourt.

Although Saint Mary’s faced a tougher second half, where Pacific outscored them by seven points, they managed to maintain their lead, with Barrett again stepping up to score 11 points in the latter half, ensuring his team’s victory.
