RICHMOND, Va. — Florida Gulf Coast University triumphed over Richmond with a final score of 75-57 on Saturday night, thanks to a strong performance from Dallion Johnson, who led the Eagles with 16 points.

Johnson’s shooting was notable as he connected on 6 of 17 attempts from the field, including 4 of 9 from beyond the arc. Jevin Muniz also contributed significantly, adding 15 points while completing 5 of 9 field goals and hitting 4 of 7 from the charity stripe, along with grabbing 11 rebounds. Rahmir Barno rounded out the strong offensive effort with 14 points, converting 4 of 7 shots and 6 of 8 free throws, while also contributing five rebounds and eight assists.

For the Spiders, Dusan Neskovic was the standout player, scoring 20 points and securing nine rebounds. Jonathan Beagle helped the effort with 14 points, while Mikkel Tyne chipped in with eight.

Florida Gulf Coast took control of the game late in the first half, establishing a lead with 2:54 left. They went into halftime ahead 38-30, with Johnson contributing 11 points during that period. The Eagles strengthened their position in the second half, extending their lead to 68-50, powered by an 8-0 scoring streak. During this stretch, Barno emerged as the team’s top scorer, racking up 11 points in the half.

This strong victory improves Florida Gulf Coast’s record to 5-8, while Richmond remains at 5-8. The Eagles showcased their ability to dominate key stretches of the game, ultimately securing a comfortable win on the road.
