Thomas Sorber contributed significantly to the team’s success by scoring 22 points, while also grabbing 12 rebounds and blocking four shots.
His teammate Drew Fielder also had an impressive outing, scoring 20 points on 6 of 7 shooting from the field, in addition to making all eight of his free throws and securing 13 rebounds.
Malik Mack added to the offense with 15 points, rounding out the scoring for the Hoyas, who now hold an impressive record of 11 wins and 2 losses.
On the opposing side, Coppin State, which struggling this season with a record of 1-13, had Toby Nnadozie lead their scoring efforts with 22 points.
Julius Ellerbe contributed to the Eagles’ performance with 12 points and managed to record six steals, while Zahree Harrison finished the game with nine points and four steals.
Georgetown established dominance early, taking the lead just 16 seconds into the first half and maintaining it throughout.
By halftime, the score read 37-30, with Sorber accumulating 13 points by that point.
The Hoyas then delivered a powerful second-half performance, launching a 21-2 run that pushed their lead from seven points to a commanding 26 points.
They outscored Coppin State by 23 points in the second half, with Mack leading the effort after the break by scoring nine points.
