MEXICO CITY — A tragic incident occurred on Mexico’s Gulf coast early Friday when a bus collided with a truck, resulting in the deaths of eight individuals and injuries to 27 others.
The unfortunate event took place on a highway close to Xalapa, the capital of Veracruz state, according to statements from local prosecutors.
Most of those who lost their lives were reportedly passengers traveling on the ADO-line bus. Among the deceased were three men, four women, and a young girl.
The 27 individuals who sustained injuries have been transported to nearby hospitals for treatment; however, there has been no immediate update on their health status.
While the specific cause of the crash remains undetermined, it is worth noting that the area features mountainous terrain with notably sharp curves, which may have played a role in this tragic accident.
