Murray State secures 7th place at Diamond Head Classic, defeating Loyola Chicago 71-68

HONOLULU — In an exciting matchup at the Diamond Head Classic, Murray State secured a narrow 71-68 victory against Loyola Chicago, thanks in large part to the contributions of KyeRon Lindsay and Terence Harcum, who each finished with 16 points.

Lindsay also contributed significantly on the defensive end, recording five rebounds and four steals for the Racers (7-6). Harcum displayed a well-rounded performance, making five of his ten field goal attempts, including two out of six from beyond the arc, and he was also successful on four out of six attempts from the free-throw line. AJ Ferguson added to the scoring with 11 points, shooting four of eight from the field and converting two of his four free throw attempts.

The Ramblers (9-4) found their top scorer in Miles Rubin, who matched Lindsay’s total with 16 points and added three blocks to his performance. Des Watson complemented the scoring effort with 12 points, while Sheldon Edwards contributed with 10 points, helping to keep the game competitive.

The first half saw Lindsay lead the Racers with eight points, but they entered halftime trailing the Ramblers by a score of 36-34. The second half proved to be pivotal, as Harcum stepped up, scoring ten points to help guide Murray State to a comeback victory.
