LOS ANGELES — On Sunday, Chibuzo Agbo shone brightly for USC, netting 18 points, which included four 3-pointers, guiding the Trojans to a commanding 82-51 victory over Southern. This win marked USC’s fourth consecutive triumph as they wrapped up their nonconference slate.
The Trojans, boasting a record of 9-4, will enjoy a holiday break before resuming action in the Big Ten Conference on January 4, where they are set to face off against No. 24 Michigan in their home arena.
USC set the tone early in the game with a decisive 19-4 run, establishing a strong lead that they maintained throughout the contest. By halftime, the Jaguars found themselves trailing by 14 points at 41-27. However, Josh Cohen sparked a quick response in the second half, sinking four consecutive free throws, completing a three-point play, and hitting a layup within the first three minutes, extending USC’s lead to an impressive 52-30.

Cohen showed remarkable accuracy from the free-throw line, going 9 for 10 and ending the game with 17 points. Desmond Claude contributed to the offensive effort with 13 points and five assists, and Wesley Yates III chipped in with 11 points of his own.
On the other side, Southern (5-7) was led by DaMariee Jones, Jordan Johnson, and Dionjahe Thomas, each of whom scored 10 points. The Jaguars struggled offensively, shooting 17 of 52 from the field and a disappointing 2 of 19 from three-point range.
