ST. MORITZ, Switzerland — Lindsey Vonn’s much-anticipated second World Cup race following her almost six-year hiatus was called off on Sunday due to severe winds and limited visibility.

On Saturday, the 40-year-old athlete made her return to competitive skiing, finishing 14th in a super-G event held on the Corviglia course in St. Moritz. This marked a significant comeback for Vonn after years away from the sport.

Another super-G race was planned for Sunday, but the adverse weather conditions led to its cancellation.

Vonn’s next opportunity to compete will not come until the speed weekend scheduled in St. Anton, Austria, on January 11-12. This upcoming event will include both a downhill and a super-G race, providing her with a chance to showcase her remarkable skiing skills once again.

As of now, there are no updates on whether the canceled race from Sunday will be rescheduled for later in the ski season.
