Morehead, Kentucky – Kenny White Jr. showcased his scoring prowess by contributing 25 points, helping Morehead State secure a 74-68 victory over Tennessee State on Saturday evening.

White was an essential asset on the boards as well, grabbing 17 rebounds for the Eagles, who improved their record to 6-6 overall and 2-0 in the Ohio Valley Conference.

Supporting White, Jerone Morton scored 15 points with an effective shooting performance, going 5 of 10 from the field, including 1 of 3 from beyond the arc, while also successfully sinking all four of his free throws. Morton complemented his offensive contributions with six rebounds.

In addition to those performances, Tyler Brelsford chipped in 13 points for Morehead State by shooting 40% from the field and flawlessly converting all eight of his shots from the free-throw line.

On the other hand, Tennessee State, now 4-9 overall and 0-2 in conference play, was led by Travis Harper II, who tallied 22 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Additionally, teammate Aaron Nkrumah contributed 14 points and two blocks, while Carlous Williams also added 14 points to the Tigers’ efforts.

The game marked another competitive match in the Ohio Valley Conference, showcasing the players’ skills on both sides. Morehead State remains optimistic as they continue their campaign in pursuit of conference success.
