GREEN BAY, Wis. — The New Orleans Saints will be missing both quarterback Derek Carr and running back Alvin Kamara in their upcoming game against the Green Bay Packers on Monday night.
The Saints, who hold a record of 5-9, officially ruled out both players on Saturday, ahead of their matchup with the Packers, who currently sit at 10-4. Carr has been sidelined since sustaining an injury to his left hand during a close 14-11 win against the New York Giants on December 8. In Carr’s absence, Spencer Rattler is anticipated to take over as the starting quarterback.
Meanwhile, Kamara suffered a groin injury in the Saints’ narrow 20-19 defeat to the Washington Commanders last Sunday. According to interim head coach Darren Rizzi, Kamara’s injury is considered “a little bit more significant” than initially assessed, creating further complications for the Saints’ offensive lineup.
On the other side, the Packers have also declared linebacker Quay Walker and safety Javon Bullard out due to ankle injuries. Bullard was already unavailable during Green Bay’s previous game, where they secured a 30-13 victory against the Seattle Seahawks.
Furthermore, the Packers are dealing with several players listed as questionable, including cornerbacks Jaire Alexander and Corey Ballentine, both of whom have knee issues. Tight end Luke Musgrave is battling an ankle problem, and safety Evan Williams is dealing with a quadriceps injury, contributing to a worrying injury list for the team.
