PITTSBURGH — In a decisive performance on Saturday, Jahsean Corbett contributed 15 points to help the Duquesne Dukes secure a 70-54 victory over UC Irvine.

In addition to his scoring, Corbett grabbed eight rebounds for the Dukes, who improved to a record of 4 wins and 8 losses. Tre Dinkins also made a significant impact, scoring 13 points with an impressive 4 for 7 shooting rate, including 3 for 4 from beyond the three-point range. Cam Crawford matched Dinkins with 13 points, showcasing his accuracy by hitting 5 of 9 attempts, and notably, 3 out of 4 from beyond the arc.

Myles Che led the UC Irvine Anteaters, who now stand at 10 wins and 2 losses, with nine points in the game. Bent Leuchten and Torian Lee both added seven points each to the Anteater’s efforts.

Duquesne took control early on, seizing the lead just 1 minute and 21 seconds into the first half and never relinquishing it. By halftime, the Dukes held a commanding 43-24 lead, thanks largely to Crawford, who alone contributed 11 points in the first half. The team continued to dominate, extending their lead to 50-29 during the second half, highlighted by a pivotal 7-0 scoring streak. Dinkins topped the second half scoring for Duquesne, adding eight points to solidify the victory.

Next on the calendar for Duquesne is a home game against Cleary on Friday, while UC Irvine will travel to face Cal Baptist on Monday.
