LOWELL, Mass. — In an exciting matchup, the UMass Lowell River Hawks triumphed over Boston University with a score of 83-71 on Saturday afternoon.
Martin Somerville was the standout player for the River Hawks, contributing a significant 22 points after coming off the bench.
Somerville displayed impressive shooting skills, hitting 8 of 13 attempts from the field, including an outstanding 6 of 9 from beyond the three-point line.
Max Brooks also had a strong performance, scoring 20 points while shooting 10 out of 14 and adding seven rebounds along with six assists to his stat line.
Yuri Covington rounded out the offensive effort with 14 points, going 4 for 9 from the field and hitting 3 of 3 free throws, as well as making 3 out of 7 shots from three-point territory.
For the Terriers, Miles Brewster led the scoring with 19 points.
Kyrone Alexander also contributed significantly, adding 12 points along with four assists.
Malcolm Chimezie matched Alexander’s output, finishing with 12 points of his own.
With this victory, the River Hawks move to a record of 10-4, while Boston University falls to 5-7 as the season progresses.
