BEREA, Ky. — Jaron Pierre Jr. led the way for Jacksonville State with a stellar performance, scoring 22 points as they triumphed over Eastern Kentucky with a final score of 91-80 on Saturday.

Pierre displayed impressive shooting skills, successfully making 8 of 15 attempts from the field and sinking 5 of 7 free throws. His teammates also contributed significantly to the win, with Jamar Franklin scoring 16 points on 6 of 13 shooting, including 4 of 7 from beyond the arc. Marcellus Brigham Jr. finished the game with a solid 13 points, going 3 for 7 on field goals and nailing all 4 of his free throw attempts while hitting 3 of 4 three-pointers.

The Colonels, who now hold a 6-6 record, were spearheaded by Devontae Blanton, who had an outstanding game with 36 points and contributed two steals. George Kimble III also played well, adding 18 points to the team total, while Turner Buttry chipped in with eight points.

Jacksonville State took control of the game when Pierre executed a powerful dunk with 9:13 left in the second half, pushing the score to 64-62 and securing the lead for good.
