ORLANDO, Fla. — Madison Conner was instrumental in TCU’s dominant performance, netting 20 out of her 24 points in the first half, while Sedona Prince contributed 22 points, leading the 12th-ranked Horned Frogs to a convincing 92-52 victory over UCF during their Big 12 Conference opener on Saturday.

Hailey Van Lith also made a solid impact for TCU (12-1), finishing the game with 14 points and seven assists. The Horned Frogs showcased their impressive shooting, hitting 11 three-pointers and boasting an overall shooting percentage of 53%. Additionally, they significantly outperformed UCF on the boards, grabbing 44 rebounds compared to UCF’s 21.

Emely Rodriguez led the Knights (7-4) with 17 points, while Nevaeh Brown chipped in with 11 points. TCU began the game on a strong note when Prince executed a three-point play, giving her team a narrow 6-5 advantage and igniting a 10-0 run. Conner pulled off five quick points in the final minute of the first quarter, establishing a 28-14 lead by the end of the period.

Both Prince and Van Lith helped propel TCU to a solid lead going into halftime, as they joined Conner in double figures, combining for 53-33 at the break. The team had a strong shooting performance, making 50% of their shots, including eight three-pointers, four of which were sunk by Conner.

As the game continued, Prince added the last two baskets of the third quarter, pushing TCU’s lead to 73-45 before entering the final quarter. The Horned Frogs continued to expand their advantage until the final whistle.

UCF, who entered the match averaging 83 points while allowing only 52, struggled offensively, managing just two three-pointers and shooting 34.5% for the game. Looking ahead, TCU is set to host Brown next Saturday, before returning to conference play at home against Colorado on January 1. Meanwhile, UCF will head to No. 14 West Virginia on New Year’s Day.
