Stephen F. Austin triumphs with an 82-56 victory against Texas Wesleyan

HUNTSVILLE, Texas — In an impressive performance, Keon Thompson led the Stephen F. Austin (SFA) team to a decisive 82-56 victory over Texas Wesleyan on Friday evening.

Thompson not only contributed significantly to the scoring with 21 points but also showcased his all-around skills by grabbing six rebounds and making four steals for the Lumberjacks, who now hold a record of 6-6 and sit at 0-2 in the Southland Conference.

Thierno Sylla supported the team’s efforts with a solid 17-point performance, complimented by seven rebounds and three steals. Additionally, Kyle Hayman added to the offensive effort, hitting 5 of 13 shots, including 4 out of 8 from three-point range, to finish the game with 15 points.

On the other side, Texas Wesleyan was led by Montez Young Jr., who managed to score 10 points, alongside three steals and two blocks. Vegas Evans contributed nine points to the Rams’ score, and Trey Sinegal added another nine points.

Looking ahead, SFA is set to face off against Abilene Christian in their next game on December 31.
