Hadjar to take over Lawson’s position at Formula 1 team RB in the 2025 season

LONDON — Racing Bulls, the junior division of the Red Bull Formula 1 team, has announced that they have signed 20-year-old driver Isack Hadjar to compete in the upcoming season.

Hadjar will be joining Yuki Tsunoda at Racing Bulls, filling the position that was previously held by Liam Lawson, who has now been promoted to drive for the main Red Bull team alongside reigning champion Max Verstappen.

This news follows closely after Red Bull’s decision to elevate Lawson, signifying a major shift within the team’s lineup. Hadjar distinguished himself this past season by finishing second in the Formula 2 feeder series, showcasing his potential and skill on the track.

Expressing his excitement about the opportunity, Hadjar spoke on the Racing Bulls website about the challenges that lie ahead. He highlighted the significant transition to a faster car and the chance to race against top-tier competitors, describing it as an entry into a “whole new universe.” He acknowledged the steep learning curve that awaits him but expressed his readiness to put in the effort and deliver his best performance for the team.

The previous season saw Racing Bulls end in eighth place in the constructors’ championship, and they hope that Hadjar will contribute to improving their standings in the next season.
