SAINT LOUIS — Wofford secured a tight 74-71 victory over Saint Louis on Wednesday night, thanks in large part to Corey Tripp, who led the team with 24 points.
Tripp also tallied five assists during the game as the Terriers, now holding a record of 5-7, showcased a strong performance. Kyler Filewich contributed significantly as well, scoring 15 points with an impressive shooting accuracy of 7 out of 11, while also grabbing 11 rebounds. Jeremy Lorenz joined in with a solid outing, hitting 5 of 7 shots from the field and finishing with 13 points, despite struggling at the charity stripe with only 2 of 5 free throws made.
On the opposing side, Isaiah Swope was the standout for the Billikens, contributing 19 points and four assists to the effort, which leaves them at 6-5 for the season so far. Robbie Avila also made a notable contribution, scoring 16 points, and adding six rebounds along with eight assists. Kobe Johnson supported the team with 12 points.
The first half saw Lorenz score nine points, but Wofford entered the break trailing 35-28. In the second half, Tripp’s remarkable 16-point contribution was pivotal as it propelled Wofford to overcome the deficit and secure the narrow three-point win.
