CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Queens secured a victory over Mercer with a final score of 73-66, thanks in large part to Nasir Mann’s impressive performance, where he contributed 15 points on the night.
Mann excelled on the court, converting 3 of his 6 shots and making 8 out of 9 attempts from the charity stripe for the Royals (now standing at 7-5). Leo Colimerio also played a crucial role, scoring 11 points, despite a shooting line of 2 for 10 from the field and hitting 1 for 3 from beyond the arc. Colimerio’s presence was felt not only from his scoring but also from his strong rebounding effort, pulling down 12 boards. Additionally, four players contributed an equal 10 points each: Yoav Berman, Chris Ashby, and Kalib Mathews.
On the other side, Mercer (6-5) was led by Alex Holt, who delivered a strong performance with 19 points, alongside gathering eight rebounds and recording three steals. Angel Montas also made a notable contribution with 14 points, six rebounds, and four assists. Tyler Johnson rounded out the Bears’ performance with another solid outing, scoring 10 points while also grabbing seven rebounds and securing two steals.
Looking forward, both Queens and Mercer will be back in action on Saturday. Queens will travel to face Ole Miss, while Mercer will visit Winthrop in hopes of bouncing back from this contest.
