BURLINGTON, Vt. — In a competitive matchup on Wednesday evening, Nick Fiorillo showcased his skills by scoring 21 points, aiding Vermont in their 75-67 victory over Miami (OH).
Fiorillo also contributed five rebounds to the Catamounts’ effort, while teammate TJ Hurley had an impressive performance, making 6 of 11 shots, including 1 of 5 from beyond the arc, and going a perfect 7 of 7 from the free-throw line to net 20 points. Additionally, Shamir Bogues chipped in 10 points, shooting 3 for 7 overall, which included 1 for 4 from three-point range, as well as converting 3 of 4 free throws.
On the other side, the RedHawks (6-4) saw Peter Suder lead their scoring with 21 points along with three steals. Kam Craft contributed by adding 15 points while Antwone Woolfolk rounded out the scoring for Miami (OH) with 12 points and seven rebounds.
Vermont took control of the game early, seizing the lead with 13:44 remaining in the first half and maintaining it throughout. At halftime, the score stood at 40-28, with Hurley notably scoring 16 points. The Catamounts then established a strong second-half presence, executing a 9-0 run that extended their lead to 49-32 with 15:37 left in the game, ultimately securing their victory.
Upcoming, Vermont will face off against Dartmouth away on Saturday, while Miami (OH) is scheduled to host Sacred Heart on Sunday.
