Conor McGregor reveals discussions with Logan Paul about boxing exhibition in India

Conor McGregor has revealed that he is in talks to face Logan Paul in a boxing exhibition match in India. Early on Tuesday, McGregor took to social media to announce that he is in “preliminary agreements” with the family of Mukesh Ambani, a billionaire industrialist, regarding the prospective event. “I have agreed,” McGregor confirmed in his post.

In addition, McGregor dispelled rumors about a potential fight with UFC featherweight champion Ilia Topuria, stating that those claims are unfounded. He mentioned that he intends to make his “return to the Octagon” following the boxing match with Paul. Topuria also addressed the speculation, affirming his disinterest in a fight with McGregor and making it clear on social media that he doesn’t want to engage with him, referring to him with a disparaging nickname.

This announcement from McGregor comes shortly after a civil court in Ireland found him liable to pay nearly 250,000 Euros (about $257,000) to a woman who accused him of “brutally raping and battering” her at a Dublin hotel in December 2018. The complainant, Nikita Hand, claimed that the incident left her with significant bruising and suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. McGregor has consistently denied the accusations, asserting that the encounter was consensual and that the allegations were fabricated.

At 36 years old, McGregor was once regarded as the premier star in the UFC; however, he has not competed since sustaining a leg injury during a fight against Dustin Poirier in July 2021. His planned match with Michael Chandler at UFC 303 last June was called off due to a broken toe, according to McGregor.

Logan Paul, who transitioned from YouTube fame to boxing, has previously participated in exhibition bouts, including one against boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. Recently, his brother, Jake Paul, achieved a unanimous decision victory over 58-year-old former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson in Arlington, Texas. This event was notable for being Netflix’s first live sporting presentation, reportedly reaching an audience of 60 million households.
